A 3-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle on Second Street in Weatherly Sunday, borough police said.
Officers, who arrived within minutes, tended to the child, who suffered minor injuries after trying to cross the street.
The girl, who was playing with her father, attempted to cross the street to be with her mother, who was visiting neighbors, police said.
Witnesses told police that attempts were made to stop the child, but she had gotten to the road and was hidden behind a parked vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was traveling below the posted speed limit, did everything properly, remained on the scene and cooperated with officers, police said. No charges will be filed.
Officers remind drivers to be cautious when driving and pay attention to their surroundings, as there is a lot of activity in the borough during the summer and children are out playing.
