Bowmanstown Borough Council took the following at its workshop last week:

• Approved the payment of fines to the state Department of Environmental Protection in the amount of $18,588.

• Agreed to hire a part-time employee over a full-time employee. However, council has not hired anyone yet for the position.

• Announced there is rotting wood on the southern facing corners along with the flagpole at the borough hall bell tower. The borough crew will get pictures of the bell tower for any decisions to be made on what action they are going to take.

• Approved a reverse subdivision for Terry and Pam Schneck at 625 Pine St.
