Lehighton Area School District’s board of directors tabled a vote Monday night to elect its 2024-25 board treasurer after two nominees failed to earn a five-vote majority.

Kerry Sittler nominated Barbara Bowes, who has been treasurer each of the last two school years, while Joy Beers nominated first-term director Sean Gleaves.

Gleaves received four votes from Beers, Heather Neff, Jeremy Glaush and himself.

Bowes’ three votes came from herself, Sittler and April Walker.

Two board members, Richard Beltz and Zac Hunter were absent from the meeting.

Interim Superintendent Jack Corby said to be elected, a director must receive a five-vote majority.

Lehighton meets again Thursday night.
