Washington Township supervisors

The Washington Township supervisors approved the following items at their meeting on Tuesday:

• Agreement with Lehigh Valley Planning Commission to pay the township’s portion to the zoning consultant for the zoning update. This will allow LVPC to start using the grant received from Lehigh County to pay for part of consultant fees of $85,000.

• The Slatington History Preservation committee use of the building and meeting room at Eagle’s Nest for storage of historical items and to have history talks with guest speakers.

• Proposal from Abel Recon to rehabilitate the Jay Street culvert pipe with a special liner for $40,000.

• Hiring Todd Andrews for summer labor at $15 per hour.

• Release the budgeted annual donation of $28,000 to Slatedale Fire Company.

• Time extension request to the Grant Street Townes, new housing development, until Aug. 21.

• Minutes from May 2024 and treasurer’s report/bank statement from April 2024.

• Eagles Nest Park trail bids were tabled until next month.

Logan McCartney and his mother, Kristen, attended Washington Township supervisors meeting on Tuesday. He was there to work for his Merit badge for Communication. McCartney took notes of the meeting.
