State police at Schuylkill Haven

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 17-year-old Pottsville boy is the victim of a road rage incident in which the perpetrator fired a handgun in the direction of his vehicle.

Police said it happened at 2:30 p.m. May 28 at the intersection of Schuylkill Mountain and Burma roads in South Manheim Township.

They said the victim was driving a 1989 Ford when a white man believed to be in his 30s, driving a 2020s model BMW, pulled next to the Ford and fired the shot.

• Brandon Kemmerling, 37, of Orwigsburg, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police conducted a traffic stop at 10:34 p.m. May 11.

He was stopped in a 2007 Dodge Nitro on Seventh Street in Auburn.

• Ruben Rojas Vargas, 31, of Pottsville, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police conducted a traffic stop at 2:15 a.m. May 11.

He was driving a 2020 Toyota when he was stopped on Maple Street in Norwegian Township.

• Police said a 14-year-old Minersville boy was charged with aggravated assault after they were called to the River Rock Academy, Wilder Street, Cressona, at 11 a.m. May 7.

The victim is a 29-year-old man from Lancaster, a teacher who the boy assaulted.

• Police were called to a theft by deception case a 9:13 a.m. May 15 in Village Road, West Brunswick Township. The victim is a 26-year-old woman from Schuylkill Haven.

Police said she reported an unidentified actor stole $1,500 from her through a cold call card-style scam.

• Police were dispatched to a property on Woodbridge Road, West Brunswick Township, at 6:36 a.m. May 26 for a theft incident.

They said it was reported that someone stole keys to a medical cart inside a building.
