State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

• Police said the driver of a 2004 Nissan Titan that crashed at 2:02 a.m. May 20 at the intersection of Mahoning Mountain Road and Spruce Street in Mahoning Township is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Police said a 16-year-old boy from Perkasie was northbound when he lost control of the vehicle, which traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

• Kristyn M. Grube, 32 of Catasauqua, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 10:59 p.m. May 28 on Interchange Road in Polk Township.

Police said she was transported by MedEvac to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg.

They said she was driving a 2008 Mercury Mariner when she lost control on a right-hand curve in the road. The vehicle continued straight, crossing the northbound land and striking a tree on the left shoulder of the road.

Police said she had to be extricated from the vehicle by mechanical means. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
