State police at Fern Ridge

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following incidents:

• Police are investigating a burglary that was reported at 12:59 p.m. April 29 on Natchez Road, Chestnuthill Township. A resident of Corona, New York, reported the incident.

Police said between April 26 and 28, someone entered an unlocked sliding bathroom window located at the rear of the residence and removed building materials from the home, as well as tool boxes equipped with power tools, hand tools and building hardware, before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

The stolen property is estimated at $2,385, police said.

• Police were called to a firearm sale or transfer at 2:30 p.m. May 9 at 1471 Route 209, Chestnuthill Township.

They said an investigation is underway regarding someone who attempted to purchase a firearm when he is legally not allowed to make the purchase.

• A 40-year-old Albrightsville woman is facing retail theft/shoplifting charges after police were called to the Dollar General Store, Old Stage Road, Penn Forest Township, at 2:06 p.m. April 29.

Police said she attempted to steal a pair of Zone Pro Active Leggings valued at $10 from the store.

• Linda Silverberg, 68, of Effort, was cited for “confinement of dogs,” a Dog Law violation, after police were called at 9:05 a.m. May 26 to an incident at a property on Merwinsburg Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said it was determined Silverberg is the owner of multiple pit bull dogs, two of which escaped the enclosure she had on her property on May 25 and attacked and injured a chicken owned by a neighbor, a 66-year-old Effort man. They said the following day the dogs escaped again, killing a chicken.

• Kristi Braud, 44, of Sciota, was committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning, after police were called to a disorderly conduct incident at 7:54 a.m. May 24 in Fawn Road in Penn Forest Township.

Police said they were summoned to the intersection with Route 903 for a woman acting erratically in the road. They said while they were en route it was determined the woman was causing a traffic hazard. They said she swung at a car driven by a 25-year-old Jim Thorpe woman as she drove from the scene.

Police located Braud and charged her with disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and public drunkenness.

• An 83-year-old Albrightsville man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police responded to a disabled vehicle report at 12:53 a.m. May 15 at the intersection of Patten Circle and Mt. Crest Boulevard in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was driving a 2004 Buick at the time.

• Police were summoned at 5:56 p.m. May 2 to Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township for an intoxicated driver complaint.

They took a 44-year-old woman from Sciota into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol. She was operating a 2024 Honda.
