Carbon County commissioners
The Carbon County commissioners discussed or acted on the following items during their weekly meeting on Thursday:
• Opened bids for one property in Jim Thorpe. The 0.79-acre parcel the county owns is located on E/S Center Avenue. Two bids were received. The county tabled the bids for one week to further look through the bids.
• No bids were received for two parcels on Princeton Avenue in Palmerton.
• Approved a request from Area Agency on Aging to continue as the fiscal manager for the Link Program through June 30, 2025.
• Approved a renewal agreement with Julie Rovinski-Mann of Jim Thorpe to continue as the Link coordinator through June 30, 2025.
• Approved a quote from Visual Sound of Broomall to install an audio/visual system in the Children and Youth conference room at a cost of $22,468.63, which is covered under a gran
• Approved the appointments of several people to the Northeast Pennsylvania Metropolitan Planning Organization Technical Planning Committee through June 30, 2026. They are: Rocky Ahner, county representative; Jason Skrimcovsky, county representative alternate; Doyle Heffley, at-large representative; and Harold Pudliner, at-large representative alternate.
• Ratified the submission of a grant application through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency for reimbursement of wages for a mental health social worker and part-time public defender through Dec. 31, 2025. The total funding available is $92,723.

• Resignations: Warren D. Balliet of Lansford, seasonal park ranger II, effective June 15; Amy Michelle Long of Jim Thorpe, secretary III, Children and Youth, effective May 23; and Gary M. Matson of Palmerton, part-time parking/meter attendant, effective June 30.
• Employment separation: Steven Otero of Mahanoy, corrections officer, effective June 5.
• Change of status: Tina M. Fink of Lehighton, from administrative assistant/records to Live Scan/mail clerk, corrections, effective June 10; Coren Kintz of Jim Thorpe, from assistant director trainee to assistant director, human resources, effective June 10.
• Court resignation: Jennifer L. Wertman of Bowmanstown, administrative assistant, domestic relations, effective June 7.
• Court appointment: Lauren E. Beal of Quakertown, law clerk (temporarily), court administration, effective Aug. 19.
• Sheriff resignation: Ian O. Achberger of Allentown, deputy sheriff, effective June 19; and Yenthy J. Munoz Collado of Stroudsburg, deputy sheriff, effective June 17.
