Tamaqua Public Library announces summer programs

Step right up!

The Tamaqua Public Library will host a Kids’ Karnival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 14.

The day will feature outdoor games, food, and a PA One book giveaway.

The Karnival will be held rain or shine at the library at 30 S. Railroad St., Tamaqua.

Youth programs

This summer’s free reading program, Adventure Begins at Your Library, starts on June 17 and runs through Aug. 8. It’s open to those in babyhood through the teenage years.

The young children’s’ program is geared to kids up to age 5. It will meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The children’s program is for youngsters age 6 to 8, and meets from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays.

The older children’s’ program, for ages 9 to 12, meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays.

The teenage program meets from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursdays.

The library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays.
