Summit Hill announces 4-division Memorial Day parade lineup

Carbon County’s largest tribute to servicemen and servicewomen will include a four-division parade that will step off at 11 a.m. Monday in the borough of Summit Hill.

Hosted by the Summit Hill Memorial Day Parade Committee, whose chairman is Thomas Vermillion, the parade traditionally draws thousands of visitors from all part of the Times News region.

Clem Midas, a U.S. Navy veteran and 50-year Legionnaire, will have the honor of serving as Grand Marshal for the parade. He will ring the old Summit Hill High School bell, located in Ludlow Park in the center of the community, to signal the start of the line of march, which will proceed west on Ludlow Street, round St. Joseph Catholic Church of the Panther Valley and continue eastbound for the entire length of the community, disbanding at the cemetery complex there.

The parade will be preceded by the traditional Memorial Day service that will begin at 10 a.m. in Ludlow Park.

Vermillion has announced the lineup for the parade as follows:
