Turnpike crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that happened on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Armando Gonzalez-Dominique, 38, of Millville, New Jersey, was uninjured when a 2016 BMW Sprinter he was operating struck a deer at mile marker 76.5 in Franklin Township.

Police said he was northbound at about 8:27 p.m. April 26 when he struck the deer in the right lane. The car had disabling damages from its front bumper being pushed into the engine compartment, police said.

• A driver left the scene of a two-vehicle crash at 11:13 a.m. May 8 at mile marker 70 in Washington Township.

Police said the vehicle was southbound when the driver apparently became distracted and the vehicle struck a 2016 Peterbilt it was passing before leaving the scene.

The Peterbilt was operated by Joshua A. Ayers, 38, of Eldred, PA, who was uninjured. His vehicle was able to be driven from the scene.
