Tamaqua Middle School honors students

Tamaqua Middle School held its annual awards luncheon at Basile Italian Delight Restaurant in Hometown. Students Millie Black and Corabel Najarro received Citizenship Awards presented on behalf of state Sen. David Argall.

Presidential Academic Excellence Awards were also distributed to the eighth grade students who earned a cumulative grade-point average of 90% or higher and scored advanced on the math and/or the ELA PSSAs in seventh grade.

Recipients include Brandon Case, Lianna Coombe-Holley, Marleigh Fleckensein, Alexander Hawley, Lilyanne Hess, Kolton Krause, Leah Laird, Victorya Longworth, Amelia MacDonald, Sean McHale, Corabel Najarro, Owen Ruch, Parker Steencken and Emma Williamson.

The luncheon is organized by the eighth grade class adviser Megan Frantz with assistance from Kristine Schellhammer.
