May 18, 1957 - Nesquehoning captures the District 11 Class B team track title, narrowly defeating Coaldale in the annual meet held in Allentown. The champions, who outscore the Tigers 50-49 1/2, receive event wins from Ron Hrapsky, Tony Malaska and their half mile relay team. Hrapsky takes the high jump by clearing 5-5, while Malaska sets a new meet record in the broad jump with a mark of 20-3 3/4. Malaska joins with Billy Sotak, Joe Vignone and Bob Macenka to claim the relay win in 1:38. Coaldale’s Joe DeMatto (shot put, javelin) finishes with a pair of wins.
