Bowmanstown Borough Council took the following action recently:

• Agreed to sign the lease with the post office.

• Approved a quote in the amount of $6,520 to install the new pumps at the pump station.

• Announced that a quote was received to upgrade the tunnel lighting in the amount of $3,069.

• Agreed to remove the old mine tunnel hydrant during Mill Street reconstruction.

• The Community Development Block Grant application in the amount of $74,093 for Lincoln Avenue - Phase 1, has been submitted to Carbon County.

• Design plans are being prepared for the Mill Street paving project, which will need to add inlet and pipe on northeast corner of Mill Street and Ore Street to tie into existing storm sewer system.

• Announced that dead trees on the borough’s property along Route 895 needed to be addressed.
