Work is being done to reopen the Barnesville Post Office, which was shut down on Feb. 20.
“The facility will reopen once all repairs have been completed,” according to Paul F. Smith, a spokesman for the United States Postal Service.
No estimate of the date was provided.
The post office was closed more than two months ago for what the USPS referred to as “unsanitary work conditions.”
A mail collection box outside the Route 54 post office was also removed.
While rural delivery is not impacted by the closure, those who had picked up their mail in Barnesville must travel to the Tamaqua Post Office to get it.
