Tamaqua man charged with threatening woman

Fransesco “Frank” Pisaniello, Tamaqua, was jailed on charges that he chased and threatened to kill a woman Monday morning, borough police said.

According to police, the woman said Pisaniello was threatening her on South Railroad Street around 11 a.m. Police learned that Pisaniello had driven away and was heading on Route 309 toward West Penn Township.

West Penn Township and Tamaqua police spotted the vehicle and took Pisaniello into custody. As they did, they said Pisaniello began yelling that his wife is nuts and is cheating on him.

Police spoke to the woman who explained that she is in a band and was going to meet another member to go over lyrics. She said Pisaniello became enraged and said he wanted to meet - and beat up - the member.

The victim told police that while she was on Railroad Street in her car, Pisaniello unlocked it with his keys and got inside. When she exited, he chased her on the streets as he screamed and called her names. Police said he threatened to kill her and pushed her to the ground.

Witnesses said they heard Pisaniello yelling at and threatening the woman, and saw him push her to the ground.

Police charged Pisaniello with terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another; terroristic threats/serious inconvenience; simple assault, disorderly conduct/fighting and disorderly conduct/physical offense.

Police said Pisaniello was on probation. He was unable to post $10,000 percentage bail. His hearing will be held at noon May 14.
