Mahlon M. Kistler, Lehighton R. 1, was elected president of the Carbon County Urban Renewal Development Authority during a meeting held last night in the commissioners’ office.

Other officers are Howard Krill, Palmerton, vice president, John W. Angst, Lansford, secretary-treasurer, and Carl Evans, assistant secretary-treasurer. The fifth member of the authority is John Marzen of Jim Thorpe.

The authority was established by the county commissioners several weeks ago, at which time it was stipulated all urban renewal projects undertaken in the county are to be financed entirely by the local municipalities and federal funds with no expense to the county.
