Monroe County crashes

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following crashes:

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:41 p.m. April 20 at the intersection of Hamilton Road and the Route 209 northbound off-ramp in Hamilton Township.

Police said it happened when Stuart Thody, 84, of Effort, driving a 2007 Jeep Liberty, on the off-ramp, stopped at the posted stop sign and attempted to turn north onto Hamilton Road, proceeding without clearance and striking a 2011 Toyota Tundra driven by James H. Willis, 58, of East Stroudsburg, causing it to flip over.

Police said Thody was cited after the crash.

• Police said a driver and two passengers sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 5:10 p.m. April 26 on Route 209 in Hamilton Township.

They said Brandon M. McCullen, 33, of Henryville, and two girls, ages 9 and 6, were transported by personnel from the St. Luke’s Emergency and Transport Services to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Monroe Campus, Stroudsburg, after the incident. A third passenger in the vehicle driven by McCullen, an 11-year-old boy, was uninjured, as were the second driver, Matthew D. Long, 50, of Lehighton, and two passengers, Shane E. Ostrander, 35, also of Lehighton, and Shane Grohotolski, 28, of Kunkletown.

Police said the crash happened when McCullen, driving a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado south on Route 33 took a wrong exit (off ramp to Lehighton) and subsequently pulled over onto the right shoulder and eventually attempted to re-enter the lane of travel when it was struck by a 2017 Ford Fusion driven by Long.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damages. Police said McCullen was cited after the crash.
