CCTI students excel in national assessment exams

The Carbon Career and Technical Institute received the results of their National Occupational Competency Testing Institute and National Institute for Metalworking Skills assessments. Pennsylvania career and technical schools are required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education/Bureau of Career and Technical Education to administer these exams to seniors who have completed their career and technical program.

The NOCTI exam is comprised of two components: written and performance.

“We are proud to announce that 100% of our students scored advanced or competent on the written portion of the exam, which is a great accomplishment,” Dave Reinbold, CCTI Administrative Director, said.

Also, 100% of the precision machine technology students who are required to participate in the NIMS assessments scored advanced.

After combining the NIMS and NOCTI written and performance scores, over 91% of CCTI’s seniors scored advanced or competent on their end-of-program assessments. According to the most recent data available, the Pennsylvania state average is 79% advanced or competent.

“CCTI’s class of 2024 scores are clearly among the best in the state,” Reinbold added. “The students, instructors, aides, and staff did an outstanding job preparing for the assessments and the results are a testament to a total team effort.”
