Dinner reminder

Monroe County’s living, historical farm, Quiet Valley, is holding its annual meeting and potluck dinner Sunday, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Members can preorder tickets or call the farm to reserve their spots. There is a cover charge, but no charge for children under 5.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 18,19, 25 and 26, Quiet Valley, Monroe County’s living historical farm will host its yearly Farm Animal Frolic.

Prayer Shawl meeting

On Tuesday, the Effort UMC prayer shawl “makers” are meeting at 10:30 a.m.

Chestnuthill Supervisors

The Chestnuthill Board of Supervisors is slated to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the municipal building on Route 715, Brodheadsville.

Polk Planners

The Polk Planning Commission is slated to meet next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the municipal building in Kresgeville.

Special recycling

Anyone who has eclipse-viewing glasses, and would like to help “Astronomers Without Borders, a nonprofit group who has partnered with organizations across the U.S. and Canada to collect and recycle gently used eclipse-viewing glasses, can do so by mailing them to: Koshland Integrated Natural Sciences Center, Haverford College c/o Prof. Karen Masters, 370 Lancaster Avenue, Haverford, PA 19041.

Museum opens

The Ross Township Historical Society Museum will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11, and every second Saturday of each month thereafter at the same time. Note the change in time.

There is no charge for admission and all are welcome. The museum is located at 258 Anchorage Road, Saylorsburg.

Free event

The Pocono Family YMCA is hosting a free event at the Stroudsburg High School’s track May 15.

Participants are invited to walk with other seniors around the track and then return to the YMCA for refreshments and door prizes. The first 100 people to register will receive a free T-shirt.

ReStore help sought

Monroe County Habitat for Humanity is seeking volunteers to help set up at its ReStore on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Spaghetti dinner

Austin’s Blue Line will be the beneficiary of a spaghetti dinner being held from 4 to 7 p.m. in Effort UMC’s Wesley Hall, May 18.

It is a dine in or take out event. The cost of each meal helps to support the scholarships offered and suicide prevention.

Sign-ups for donations and desserts will be in the church Narthex.
