Track & Field Roundup: Results from April 30

The Palmerton boys and girls track and field teams closed out the regular season with a pair of wins Tuesday.

Elsewhere, Lehighton and Jim Thorpe’s boys and girls concluded their Schuylkill League schedule with victories.

TRACK

Catasauqua-Wilson-

Palmerton

The Palmerton boys and girls swept Palisades and Wilson in a shortened Colonial League meet due to inclement weather.

The Bombers topped the Warriors (60-40) and Roughies (74-26) in the boys meet, and recorded 91-66 and 86 1/2-40 1/2 wins over Wilson and Catty, respectively, in the girls meet.

Bryson Walters won the 110 and 300 hurdles, while the Bombers went 1-2-3 in the shot put with Zack Anthony winning, Logan Anthony second and Ryan Burkett third.

Ruby Walters won the 100 and 300 hurdles. Maddy Bennyhoff led a sweep in the pole vault, placing first as Sadie Gair was second and Walters third.

Notre Dame GP-Salisbury-Northern Lehigh

Northern Lehigh split with Notre Dame Green Pond and Salisbury in Colonial League action in a meet permanently suspended because of weather.

The Bulldogs topped the Falcons 48.50-24.50 in the boys meet and 51-29 in the girls contest.

The Crusaders topped the Bulldogs 64-9 in the boys meet and 56-17 in the girls contest.

Bailey Smith won the javelin for the Northern Lehigh boys, while Dekota Barthold captured the same event for the Bulldogs in the girls meet.

Lehighton

Lehighton and Jim Thorpe topped Pine Grove in a Schuylkill League double dual that was abbreviated due to weather.

The Olympians topped the Cardinals 59-17 in the boys meet and 30-24 in the girls contest. The Indians recorded a 56-17 victory over Pine Grove in the boys meet and registered a 29-21 triumph in the girls contest.

Cole Lazorick won the 100 and triple jump for the Jim Thorpe boys, while Joseph Roth picked up wins in the high jump and javelin for Lehighton’s boys.

Brielle Frable (1600), Ava Kistner (100H) and Lorah Thomas (shot put) all had wins for the Indian girls.

Olivia Rosenberger posted a victory in the pole vault for the Jim Thorpe girls.

The Pirates topped the Tigers 78-71, while the Spartans rolled to a 111-38 victory.

Gavin Nelson cleared 6-5 to win the high jump for Northwestern.

Stroudsburg swept an Eastern Pennsylvania Conference meet against Pleasant Valley.

The Mounties won 121-24 in the boys meet, and 115-29 in the girls competition.

Isaiah Montgomery won the 400 for Pleasant Valley, while James Moton took the 800.

Martin Green captured the 3200 for the Bears.

For the girls, Kara Miller claimed the shot put and discus events. Bailey O’Keefe won the pole vault event.

Blue Mountain swept a Schuylkill League meet shortened by weather against Tamaqua.

The Eagles won 35-6 in the boys competition and 21-11 in the girls meet.

Cayden Anglin placed third for Tamaqua in the 110 hurdles. Nicholas Barron and Scott Case also picked up podium finishes for the Blue Raiders in the long jump event, placing second and third.

Katelynn Fredericks took home the 100 hurdles for Tamaqua, while Brooke Reilly claimed the high jump event.

The Hurricanes posted a 95-42 victory in the boys meet, and secured a 121-16 win in the girls contest.

Sebastian Williams (800), Carlos Otero (3200) and Corbin Wagner (triple jump) had wins for the Wreckers in the boys meet. Williams was on the winning 1600 relay with Matthew Adler, Niko Saldukas, and Chance Stauffer, and combined with Otero, Saldukas and Stauffer to win the 3200 relay.

Kelly Reiner won the javelin for the Weatherly girls.
