May 1, 1995 - The Pleasant Valley girls track and field team clinches the Mountain Valley Conference championship with an 83-58 victory over Pocono Mountain. The win is the 39th straight for the Bears and runs their streak of consecutive league titles to five - four straight to end the Centennial League and the first in the new MVC. Karyn Kern leads the way for PV, coached by Woody Metzger, with three firsts and a second. Her wins come in the long jump, triple jump and high jump. Other firsts come from Lisa Werkheiser (800), Becky Swanson (100 hurdles), Amanda Ziegenfus (shot put), Megan McMahon (discus) and Dee O’Connell (javelin).
