Turnpike crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Leon D. Pawlik, 42, of Clementon, New Jersey, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 1:34 p.m. April 22 at mile marker 89.4 in Kidder Township. He was uninjured.

Police said he was driving a 2014 BMW northbound when he came upon slower traffic, swerved to the left lane and struck the center barrier.

• Police said the passenger side rearview mirror of a 2024 International tractor trailer was damaged after the driver parked it and went to sleep at about 1 a.m. March 29 at the Hickory Run Service Plaza in Penn Forest Township.

The driver told police the generator of the vehicle was running while he slept and he did not hear or feel any impact that would have caused the damages.

• David L. Arasim, 61, of Levittown, escaped injuries when a 2023 Kia Soul he was driving struck a deer that entered the roadway at 5:58 p.m. April 21.

It happened at mile marker 69.3 in Washington Township when he was southbound.

• Police said the driver of a vehicle that struck another one at mile marker 70.2 in Washington Township at 5:55 p.m. April 23 left the scene.

Police said Gabriel A. Krouse, 19, of Bala Cynwyd, was northbound in a 2013 Volkswagen Golf when the striking vehicle hit its rear bumper and fled the scene. Krouse was uninjured.

• Patrick D. Mark, 29, of Knoxville, Tennessee was cited after a crash at 2:34 p.m. April 3 at mile marker 83 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was driving a 2011 Subaru Legacy that struck a 2013 Acura operated by Solem M. Pedraza, 44, no address listed. No one was hurt in the crash.
