The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop N, Hazleton, and Hazleton City police conducted “Operation Trigger Lock” on April 20, seizing various drugs and making a number of arrests.

Officials said the joint enforcement detail was conducted due to recent violent activity within the Hazleton City limits. Police said the operation also resulted in the seizure of the following narcotics: fentanyl, 6 grams; crack cocaine, 5 grams; wax marijuana, 3 grams; marijuana, 1/5 pounces; and a small amount of methamphetamine.

Police said they also made 10 arrests for driving under the influence; an arrest of another person for DUI while having a 6-year-old in the vehicle; and two arrests for illegal possession of a firearm, with the firearms having been seized. Police served four arrest warrants and engaged in one pursuit of a vehicle, which ended in the apprehension of a DUI operator in possession of narcotics.
