Groundbreaking ceremonies for a new truck manufacturing plant at the Kovatch Corporation plant in Nesquehoning highlighted the firm’s 40th anniversary celebration this weekend.

John J. Kovatch Jr., president of the firm, and Joseph J. Kovatch, and their sons, John III and Joseph Jr., turned shovels of dirt.

Following brief remarks, “Sonny” Kovatch conducted tours of the operation, offering bits of history about the company and detailing the many high-technical operations that go into the manufacturing of the many models of fire trucks the firm makes.
