Zion’s United Church of Christ, Lewistown Valley, celebrated its 100th anniversary earlier this week by placing a “Time Capsule” in the cornerstone of the church.

The guest minister for the morning service was Dr. John C. Shetler, conference minister, Pennsylvania Southeast Conference. Other participants were Rev. John R. Gulick, pastor emeritus, and Rev. Dale M. Shellhammer, pastor.

Items were presented for the time capsule by Daniel Leiby, Roscoe Bensinger, Rev. Gulick, Rev. Shellhammer, Dr. Shetler, Grace Ann Gerber, Leslie Koch, Kathy McGee and Bertram Leiby.
