Mackenzie declared winner for Republican spot to challenge Wild

The Associated Press has declared State Rep. Ryan Mackenzie as the winner for the Republican spot to challenge incumbent Susan Wild to represent Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District in November. The district includes all of Carbon, Lehigh, and Northampton Counties; and parts of Monroe County.

With all precincts reporting, Mackenzie has 12,577 votes in Lehigh County, 2,014 votes in Carbon County and 7,893 votes in Northampton County.

Monroe results are not yet available.

Kevin Dellicker has 9,923 unofficial votes in Lehigh, 6,567 in Northampton and 1,812 in Carbon. Maria Montero, who has roots in Summit Hill, has 3,147 in Lehigh, 7,353 in Northampton and 1,907 in Carbon. Mackenzie has served as a state representative for nearly 12 years. He is graduate of Parkland High School, NYU, and Harvard Business School.

He lives in Emmaus with his wife and newborn son.

The district includes all of Carbon, Lehigh, and Northampton Counties; and parts of Monroe County.
