The Lehigh Township Zoning Board will hear a petition for a special exception for an apartment next month.

Earlier this month the township planning commission heard the testimony of Katherine Mack-Perich, chairman of the zoning /code enforcement for Lehigh Township.

She is the owner of an animal sanctuary at 3774 Peach Drive, Danielsville, and is requesting special exception approval and a favorable interpretation or variance in the alternative for temporary farm housing.

Mack-Perich wants the apartment for a farm hand that has been living there for 12 years. The commission voted 3-1 on the request, with Cindy Miller opposed.

The matter now moves to zoning.
