Palmerton group donates to animal agencies

A rescue society, along with an animal shelter, recently received donations from a Palmerton organization.

Crusaders For A Cause Inc., made a $500 donation to Blue Mountain Animal Rescue Society.

Donna L. Becker Crum, founder, Blue Mountain Animal rescue Society, accepted the donation.

This donation will go toward a surgery needed for Oliver, a rescued pup who had lost his owner to cancer.

Back on Dec. 14, Crusaders also delivered a large amount of assorted dog food to the Carbon County Animal Shelter.

Tom Connors, director of the Carbon County Animal Shelter, said they really appreciate Crusaders’ continued support.

Larry J. Zawaly, treasurer, Crusaders For a Cause, said they also expect to make a donation of cleaning supplies in the near future.

Zawaly said the 18th annual Crusaders For A Cause spring carnival will be held May 16-20 in the Palmerton Borough Park.

“We hope to continue making donations to various organizations with the support of the public attending our carnival,” Zawaly said.
