With the Blue Raiders holding a one-point advantage on Mahanoy, Messerschmidt clears 5-7 in the high jump to give his team a 76-74 win. Tamaqua, which defeats the Spartans by a 99-51 score, receives multiple firsts from both Ted Patrick (100, 220) and Marv Swartz (long jump, triple jump). Other wins come from Dan Fetterman (javelin), Jerry Zubey (440) and Matt Welsh (pole vault), as well as the mile relay.
