Calvary Lewistown

Dave Miller from Gideons International will be the guest speaker at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical UMC, 824 Catawissa Rd., Tamaqua.

The Gideons are having their convention in the area, and Miller will share information on how Gideons International is using their ministry to bring people to Christ. A love offering will be received for Gideon International ministry.

Pastor Kim will share a message of faith and also provide special music at the 10:30 a.m. service. Sunday school for all ages will be held at 9:15 a.m., and the evening service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday featuring congregational choice singing and a short Bible study with Wendell Heisler.

The Wednesday Prayer and Share will be held at 7 p.m. All are welcome.

St. Peter’s - West Penn

Worship service with Joyous Noise will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday at St. Peter’s Church, West Penn Township, followed by 10:15 a.m. Sunday School, 10:30 a.m. Confirmation Class meeting, and 6 p.m. Girl Scouts meeting.

WASP will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Pickup for preschool meal orders will be held from the south entrance between 4 and 6 p.m. Wednesday, and play practice is at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on April 4 with 28 members present.

President Jean Machamer opened the meeting with the invocation, “Strength for Tomorrow.” Brenda Zellers was added to the sick list. Shirley Kaiser was welcomed back. New member Jackie Kemmerer was welcomed.

Birthdays in April celebrated included those of Jackie Kemmerer, Gladys Arner, Eileen Keich and Antoinette Triano. Bingo and cards were played.

The Tamaqua Seniors meet every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex at 1 p.m.

Zion - Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley.

Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
