Bowmanstown plans to seek additional funding for the reconstruction of Lincoln Avenue.

Borough engineer Jessica Rehrig informed borough council last week that she was preparing the Community Development Block Grant application and estimate for Lincoln Avenue Phase One.

Rehrig said the application is due to the county by May 3.

She suggested that council ask for an additional $56,000.

Rehrig said the borough would have two years to spend it once they would receive the grant.

Last month, the borough was awarded $187,000 in funding for the reconstruction of Lincoln Avenue, the borough’s wastewater treatment plant access road.

The borough received the Multimodal Transportation Funding through the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
