Palmerton Borough Manager Autumn Canfield told borough council on Wednesday that a plan was developed to revamp the summer schedule for the borough office.

Canfield said the schedule will begin May 28 and end Aug. 30.

She said during that time frame, the office will open at 8 a.m. rather than 8:30 a.m., which will allow for an extra half-hour in the morning.

Canfield said that on Fridays, the office will open at 8 a.m. and close at noon, or open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 4:30 p.m. alternating. She said June 7 is the first of the half days.

Canfield said all employees will be working the same number of hours, but that they will be distributed differently.
