Dr. William M. Markson and Dr. Ronald S. Stein, members of the medical staff at Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, have been selected by the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Duke University medical centers to participate in the GUSTO study, the largest U.S.-based cardiovascular medicine study ever conducted.

Global Utilization of Streptokinase and t-PA for Occluded Coronary Arteries involves 41,000 patients and 1,200 to 1,500 hospitals worldwide. Its goal is to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of thrombocytic or clot-dissolving agents in treating heart attack victims.
