Former Marian players Reinoehl, Nemeth help Bloomsburg secure softball sweep

Former Marian standouts Lyndsey Reinoehl and Mia Nemeth helped the Bloomsburg University softball team capture a midweek sweep over Mansfield Tuesday.

Bloomsburg rode a balanced effort of pitching and hitting to secure the sweep with a 7-2 win in Game 2.

Reinoehl and Kelly Eberly each tossed well from the mound, splitting the action and helping the Huskies to the win.

Eberly and Reinoehl combined to allow one run apiece while striking out a combined five batters, with Reinoehl striking out two and allowing two hits with one walk. With her 3.1 innings pitched, Reinoehl picked up her first victory of the 2024 season.

Nemeth was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in the second game.

The Huskies began the day with a 13-3 victory over the Mountaineers in game one. The 13 runs set a new season-best, with three batters recording multiple RBIs and three scoring multiple times. Reinoehl had a double, and Nemeth scored a run.

Nemeth is second on the team this season with 12 RBIs and has also scored 10 runs. She has also walked six times.

Bloomsburg improved to 15-8 overall and owns a 4-2 record in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division.

The Huskies are back on the road in PSAC play with a pair of games at Kutztown, beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 29.
