District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced a sentence for a former high school teacher charged with

soliciting to meet who he thought was a 17-year-old girl for sex.

Michael Feifel, DOB 1/26/1968, of Walnutport, pleaded guilty Jan. 4, 2024, to charges of unlawful

contact with a minor and criminal use of a communication facility, both felonies of the third degree.

Feifel was sentenced to serve 12 months less a day to 24 months less a day in Lehigh County Jail,

followed by a consecutive period of 12 months of probation supervision. The sentence was issued today

by Judge Robert L. Steinberg.

With the sentence being set at one day less than 12 months, Feifel will avoid being sent to a State Correctional Institution.

On June 29, 2023, a multi-jurisdictional human trafficking operation was held in South Whitehall

Township to combat sex trafficking by posting several ads on websites used for prostitution. Taking part

in the operation were members of Homeland Security Investigations, the Lehigh County Human

Trafficking Task Force, the Northampton County Human Trafficking Task Force, and the Berks County

Human Trafficking Task Force.

An undercover Allentown Police Detective posed online as a 17-year-old girl and Feifel responded to the

advertisement and agreed to meet the decoy for sex acts in exchange for money.

Feifel arrived at an agreed upon location in South Whitehall Township planning to engage in sex with a

17-year-old girl. Instead, he was met by members of the human trafficking task force and immediately

placed under arrest.

The case was investigated by Lehigh County Detective Matthew Tretter and prosecuted by Senior Deputy

District Attorney Kevin P. McCloskey.
