Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce sets summer concerts

The Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce has announced the schedule for its Summer Concert Series.

The concerts will be held Thursdays from 6:30-8 p.m. on the historic Tamaqua Train Station platform. Attendees should bring a chair or a blanket to enjoy an evening of free entertainment.

The schedule is:

• May 29: The Cressona Band will play classical music overtures and contemporary band music. Sponsored by Shafer’s Pharmacy.

• June 6: Jay Smar will play northeast Pennsylvania coal mining and traditional American folk music. Sponsored by The Vince Boyle Team.

• June 13: Jason Kuhla will play acoustic classic rock, country, oldies, blues and more. Sponsored by Mauch Chunk Trust.

• June 20: Tom Acker will play acoustic party time hits. Sponsored by Explore Schuylkill.

• June 27: Ricky & the Ricardos will play songs “you didn’t even know you wanted to hear.” Sponsored by Fegley Oil.

• July 11: The Bees Knees will play fun, danceable hits from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. Sponsored by Lehigh Valley Health Network.

• July 18: Island Time will play summertime party music. Sponsored by Explore Schuylkill.

• July 25: Supersonic Godfathers will play popular rock music. Sponsored by St. Luke’s Miners Campus.

• Aug. 1: Hatter will play favorite pop, rock and dance hits, along with originals. Sponsored by the American Cancer Society.

• Aug. 8: Toolshed Jack will play pop, new rock, disco and the classics. Sponsored by NEPA Settlement and the Law Offices of Christine Holman.

• Aug. 15: 8:17 will play favorite hits from the ’80s, ’90s, ’00s and modern country. Sponsored by Bowe and Odorizzi.

• Aug. 22: Sean McGeehan will play high-energy sing-along songs. Sponsored by Lehigh Carbon Community College.

• Aug. 29: Free Range Folk will play folk music. Sponsored by EMD Electronics.

• Sept. 5: Total Confusion will play classic rock and country hits. Sponsored by Hollenbach Home Comfort Services.
