State Police Bethlehem — crashes

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:

• Bryce A. Schoch, 18, of Whitehall, was evaluated on scene by emergency medical services personnel from Northampton after a one-vehicle crash at 11:02 a.m. March 9 on Old Post Road in North Whitehall Township.

Police said he was driving a 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup that he lost control of when it hydroplaned into the opposite lane of travel. They said the truck struck an embankment off the shoulder, continued its momentum before overturning and came to rest overturned on its driver’s side facing north.

• Trevor O. Ryan, 26, of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, and Mary E. Young, 27, of Weatherly, were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 9:56 p.m. Feb. 22 on Route 22 in Hanover Township.

Police said they were transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. The severity of their injuries is unknown, police said.

They said the crash happened when Ryan was driving a Honda Civic eastbound when it went off the right shoulder of the road, hit a light pole, overturned and spun clockwise, coming to rest on the right shoulder of the road.

Ryan was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.

• Deron D. Dorward, 52, of Slatington, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 8:02 p.m. March 16 at the intersection of Diamond and Chestnut streets in Slatington.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, to be treated for suspected minor injuries.

They said the incident happened when a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Pablo D. Reyes, 22, of Whitehall, entered the intersection while Dorward, operating a 2021 Dodge Charger, was southbound on Diamond Street. Police said the front bumper of the Cruze struck the front bumper of the Charger.

Police said the Charger sustained severe damages and was towed from the scene. The Cruze sustained minor damages and was operable after the crash.

Reyes was uninjured. Police said he was cited for “stop signs and yield signs.”

• Two people had minor injuries in a crash at 1:08 p.m. March 13 at the intersection of Levans Road and Maple St. in N. Whitehall Township.

Police said Milca Padilla-Cartagena, 52, of Tamaqua, and Kaitlyn M. Wagner, 28, of Coplay, the drivers of the vehicles, were hurt. They said Padilla-Cartagena refused a medical transport while Wagner was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Police said the accident happened when Padilla-Cartagena, driving northbound on Maple Street failed to come to a complete stop at a posted stop sign and entered the intersection with Levans Road, hitting a westbound Subaru Crosstrek driven by Wagner.

Police said the Explorer was towed from the scene while the Crosstrek sustained disabling damages.

Padilla-Cartagena was cited for “stop signs and yield signs,” police said.
