Local roundup: Results from March 21

The Pleasant Valley girls lacrosse team remained unbeaten with another dominant win on Thursday.

Elsewhere, the Palmerton boys tennis team secured its second straight victory.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Pleasant Vy.-Central Catholic

Pleasant Valley junior Devon Bush scored a game-high eight goals in a 20-5 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Allentown Central Catholic.

Bush also had an assist. Olivia Iandoli added six goals and an assist for the Bears (3-0). Riley Rath had three goals and an assist, and Riley Green also scored twice with an assist. Abygail Borger made three saves.

Pleasant Valley led 6-2 after the first quarter and added to the advantage the rest of the way. The Bears have outscored opponents 48-15 through three games this season.

BOYS TENNIS

Palmerton-Pen Argyl

The doubles match of Hadlee Lake and Colton Ruzicka put the Blue Bombers ahead and sealed a 3-2 victory for Palmerton over Pen Argyl in Colonial League play.

Levi Johnson and Jared Reinhard took care of their second and third singles matches for the Bombers (2-1).

Pen Argyl’s (1-2) Mason Soos posted a win at No. 1 singles and Hunter Beers and Evan Frable won the No. 1 doubles match until the Lake-Ruzicka duo clinched the victory for the Blue Bombers.

Northampton-Lehighton

Northampton used strong doubles play to secure a 3-2 non-league win over Lehighton.

Brett Bastian and Connor Retlick won the No. 1 doubles match, rallying after dropping the first set, and Chace Roland and Max Kochan helped the Konkrete Kids (4-2) post a win in the second doubles match. Joey Tomaro won the No. 3 singles match.

Bayto and Benkim Cokrlija scored wins in the singles matches for the Indians (2-2).

Northampton 3, Lehighton 2

Pleasant Vy.-Emmaus

Emmaus cruised to a 6-0 win over Pleasant Valley in Eastern Conference Pennsylvania play.

The Bears (2-3) were able to tie up the second and third singles matches after the first set, but the Hornets (6-1) came back to win both matches.
