Tamaqua man charged with stalking ex-girlfriend, posting video

Coaldale police have filed charges of stalking by communication, unlawful dissemination of an intimate image and harassment against Jonathan Houser, 35, of Tamaqua.

Police officers spoke to a woman on March 10 who said she recently ended a relationship with Houser. She said everything seemed civil but she blocked him on her phone and social media.

Police said the woman told them that Houser created more than 10 new phone numbers through texting apps to talk to her and harass her. He also left numerous messages on her phone even though she said she made it clear that she does not want to communicate with him.

She said she got a “snap” message from a friend telling her that Houser had a posted a video of a sexual encounter. Police said the woman asked friends to ask him to remove the video and Houser told them he didn’t realize he had posted it and that he would take it down. Police said the video was still posted on March 10.

Police said the woman also received eight new voice messages and a number of texts between March 10 and 11 from fake phone numbers belonging to Houser.

Officers said the messages conveyed expressions of love and denial of infidelity. In one voicemail, police said Houser said, “I will be over tomorrow at the front door. If anyone thinks they are going to replace me, I will snap their neck.

Coaldale police obtained copies of the video, texts and phone calls.
