Towamensing Township supervisors

• The George subdivision was granted an extension until Aug. 1 at Thursday’s Towamensing Township supervisors meeting.

• The update of township fee schedules was tabled so the board could look at the present fees and the suggested fee list. A workshop will be held on April 18 from 3-5 p.m. to discuss the fees.

• Lehighton Ambulance made the township aware that residents were mailed information that they would be charged a $20 fee if in need of advanced life support which is not available by their community ambulance.

• The Historical Commission reported that work would begin again on repairing the school house. A volunteer has offered to cut the grass and work that needs to be done inside will be evaluated. Further discussion will be held about contributing to monthly rental of a port-a-potty at the site.

• The township paving project was advertised and sent out for bids, which are due by 3:30 p.m. March 28.

• There were two incidents reported by the fire company. The tanker truck was received on March 6 and should be ready to go next month. All vehicles have been inspected and have had preventive maintenance. Fire company personnel were recertified in CPR and first aid.

• Ethan Seidel has contacted the township about earning his Eagle Scout badge in the township. He plans to re-erect and re-plant the tombstones at the Trachsville church.

• The next meeting of the board of supervisors is at 7 p.m. April 4.
