In the mood to board a trolley and take a tour at various pubs in the Lehighton area?

Kilts on Wheels will be a hop-on and hop-off tour as the Lehighton Downtown Initiative and the Jim Thorpe Trolley Company visit numerous pubs in Lehighton from 1-6 p.m. Saturday.

The trolley will make a circuit to six locations, including Lehighton Orioles Nest 183, Radical Wine, Griffs, Lehighton American Legion, The Boatyard, and Bonnie & Clyde’s.

Those who take part can hop on and hop off as many times as they like. All attendees will receive a half-pint glass to enjoy their drinks, swag bag with water, snacks, coupons/discounts for businesses plus other goodies.

There will also be activities at some locations including 50/50 chances, Pot of Gold, Luck of the Irish Wheel and Leprechaun Dice. Fun prizes to win include Wine on the River tickets, and free drink tickets. Entertainment will also be provided at some of the locations.

Participants are encouraged to dress to impress in their favorite Irish garb to win the best-dressed Irish Man and Woman Contest. Winners will receive a ticket to Wine on the River.

A special Designated Driver ticket which includes a swag bag complete with a free Mocktail or soda plus everything mentioned above will be offered.

The event is for people 21 years or older only. Tickets can be purchased in advance or the day of the event. ID will be checked before receiving wristband.

Participants may pick up their wrist bands and swag bags outside of the borough building, located at 1 Constitution Avenue, Lehighton from 12:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. the day of the event.

In case of inclement weather, Kilts on Wheels will be held on March 10. Proceeds from the event will help with the community development and revitalization of Lehighton.
