A new home decor and gift boutique is set to open inside The Hofford Mill in Weissport.

Simple Home Pennsylvania, located at 500A Bridge St., will hold its grand opening at 11 a.m. today.

“Hopefully bringing businesses such as mine into the Weissport area will continue to help improve the area just as the Gorge Eatery has (also in The Hofford Mill),” owner Sarah Kuhn said.

Kuhn said her business will specialize in home decor and gifts, and noted it carries a range of budget-friendly items, as well as unique goods for those looking for a higher-quality product in the latest home trends.

“We believe this location has a lot of growth potential and great people,” Kuhn said. “This vicinity is lacking a store that can offer brand-new items that are of modern trends without driving down to the Allentown area.”

Kuhn explained that she’s always loved art in various forms, fine, digital, interior, architectural.

“Home interior design and decorating is no different,” she said. “I have remodeled several rooms in houses I’ve lived in, as well as helped my father in designing and staging homes he has flipped.”

Kuhn described what she believes will set her business apart from the rest.

“We are unlike the local physical home product stores in the area in that our products are not used or antiques,” she said. “The revolving collections of rustic, classic, farm, and modern decor items will help you gather inspiration for how to make your own home welcoming and beautifully decorated.

“This was a labor of love between myself, my husband, (Brendan) and 5-year old son (Oliver), and my incredibly gifted and loving father (Dusty Kuehner) who spent countless hours crafting the layout for me better than I could have imagined.”

Kuhn said that for now, the business will have just two employees, she and her husband, Brendan.

“To bring this area an opportunity to shop the items they are looking for without having to resort to Amazon (where you can’t touch or feel what you’re getting before buying) or having to drive to the Allentown area,” she said when asked what the overriding goal for her business is.

“I wish to provide inspiration for those looking to either update their home’s ambience, or give a quality gift to their loved ones for any occasion.”

Kuhn said Simple Home Pennsylvania will be open from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, 5-9 p.m. Friday, noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The store is closed Monday through Wednesday.
