State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following:

• Starkyl Casalinova-Perez, 27, of the Bronx, New York, was committed to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, after police learned there is an active warrant issued against him.

Police said they responded to a verbal domestic dispute at 11:03 a.m. Feb. 11 on South Spencer Street in West Mahanoy Township and Casalinova-Perez ran from the scene. They caught him after a brief pursuit, police said.

He is being held in jail on the warrant in lieu of $50,000 straight cash bail.

• Police said the driver of a vehicle involved in a two-vehicle crash at 2:02 a.m. Feb. 21 on Interstate 81 in Ryan Township fled the scene.

They said the vehicle was northbound and was directly behind a 2014 Hyundai Elantra driven by Francisco Corsino Pimental, 35, of Hazleton, when its front portion struck the Elantra, causing it to exit the left side of the roadway and hit a metal guide rail. The Elantra continued across both lanes when its rear portion hit a metal guide on the right shoulder as the striking vehicle left the scene.

Pimental was uninjured. His car was towed from the scene, police said.

• Police were called to a sexual assault case at the State Correctional Institution, Mahanoy Township, that happened between 7-8 a.m. Feb. 23.

They said an inmate alleged he was sexually assaulted by another inmate in his cell.

• A 30-year-old man from Shenandoah died on an apparent drug overdose on Feb. 24.

Police said they were called to a residence on North Main Street for the death that took place between midnight and 6 a.m. The death is believed to be accidental, police said.
