Senior Center

The Panther Valley Senior Center announced the menu for March 4 to 8.

Monday: Roast Pork, Sweet Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts, Pound Cake or Turkey Ham and Cheese Sandwich

Tuesday: Beef and Pepper Soup, Breaded Chicken Sandwich, Broccoli, Pudding or Beef and Cheese Sandwich

Wednesday: Swiss Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Beets, Cookie or Italian Salad

Thursday: Chicken Piccata, Rotini, Carrots, Fruit Salad or Chef Salad with Ham

Friday: Ravioli, Vegetable Blend, Mandarin Oranges or BBQ Chicken Sandwich

The senior center also announced the following events.

Bingo on March 4 at 10:45 a.m.; Games on March 5 at 10 a.m.; Win, Lose or Draw on March 6 at 11 a.m.; Sunshine Meeting on March 7 at 10 a.m. followed by Po-Keeno at 11 a.m.; Cornhole on March 8 at 11 a.m.

Po-Keeno on March 11 at 11 a.m.; Birthday Bingo on March 12 at 10:45; Balloon Tennis on March 13 at 11 a.m.; St. Patrick’s Party on March 14 at 10:30 a.m.; Horseracing on March 15 at 11 a.m.

Cards, Pool, Games, available daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. New members are welcome.

Panther Valley Library

Tax help is available for adults 60 and older who qualify for a rent/property tax rebate at the Panther Valley, 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford.

Time slots available are 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. March 22.

To schedule an appointment, call the library at 570-645-3780.

Put all of your tax information in a sealed envelope with your name on it and drop it off at the library at your scheduled appointment time. Your return will be mailed to you once it is complete.

St. John the Baptist Church Theme basket raffle

St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 9 W. Railroad St., in Nesquehoning is holding its annual theme basket raffle tonight and Saturday.

The church has dozens of baskets, gift cards and larger prizes up for grabs.

Browsing is open from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The drawing begins at 2 p.m.

In addition, take out food options are also available for purchase, including frozen pirohi and halushki, kielbasa and sauerkraut sandwiches, turkey and pork barbecue, mac and cheese, and more. Baked goods will also be available.
