State police at Schuylkill Haven

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks reported the following:

• Betty J. Jones, 78, of Auburn, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 10:58 a.m. Feb. 15 on South Greenview Road, North Manheim Township.

Police said she was transported to the Geisinger-St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg, by personnel from the Pottsville/Schuylkill Haven Area EMS. Police said the severity of her injuries is unknown.

Police said the mishap happened when a 2023 Freightliner propane tank driven by Timothy McNavage, 63, of New Philadelphia, traveling north, came to a stop at a stop sign intersection and proceeded through the intersection where it was struck by a 2012 Kia Sorento driven by Jones. Police said she did not have a stop sign at the time.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Police said McNavage was cited for “stop signs and yield signs.”

• A 34-year-old woman from Weatherly is the victim of a aggravated assault incident that police responded to at 1:20 p.m. Feb. 15 on Wilder Street in Cressona.

They said a 13-year-old boy from Pottsville, identified as a student, assaulted his teacher.

• Alex M. Mullins, 29, of Schuylkill Haven, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 6:06 a.m. Feb. 24 on Pheasant Run Road in West Brunswick Township. Police said he fled the scene of the crash.

They said he was driving a 2014 Ford Focus at a high rate of speed on Lake Front Drive when he failed to stop at the intersection with Pheasant Run Road and proceeded to strike an embankment off the right shoulder of the road.

• A 62-year-old Bernville man was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop police made at 12:48 a.m. Feb. 22 on the Centre Turnpike (Route 61) in West Brunswick Township.

Police said he was stopped while driving a 2003 Ford F150. Police observed signs of criminal activity and impairment. They said standardized field sobriety testing indicated further impairment resulting in the man’s arrest.

• Noel Arndt, 53, of Auburn, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop police made at 1:20 a.m. Feb. 15 in the 2300 block of Market Street in West Brunswick Township.

Police said he was stopped while driving a 2016 Porsche. Police observed several indicators of impairment, conducted a standardized field sobriety test and made the arrest.
