State police at Hazleton - crashes

State police at the Hazleton barracks reported the following:

• Kyle J. Medvitz, 33, of White Haven, was cited for “classes of licenses” after a traffic incident at 12:39 p.m. Feb. 21 on North Park Drive in Hazle Township.

Police said he was driving a 2018 Freightliner that was making a U-turn in front of 1111 N. Park Drive when its trailing unit overturned. Both lanes of the road were temporarily closed until the vehicle and trailer were towed from the scene. He was uninjured.

• Charges of careless driving are pending against the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a crash with a vehicle driven by a Summit Hill man at 6:08 p.m. Feb. 6 on Interstate 81 in Hazle Township.

Police said a vehicle traveling south attempted to pass a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe operated by Richard Bennick, 54, of Summit Hill. The mirrors of both vehicles struck each other. Police said Bennick pulled over to assess the minor damages while the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

The Santa Fe was rendered operable, police said. No one was injured in the incident.
