Palmerton Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:

• Approved a quote from Edmunds GovTech Financial Software in the amount of $44,100, with years two and three annual payment of $18,000 each year, for new software for the borough office staff. The initial cost of $44,100 includes software services, the various modules the borough needs for the borough functions such as payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, escrow, etc, hosting, implementation and conversion costs for the transfer from its current program to the new. The following years are the hosting and subscription fees.

• Approved an amendment to the snowplow cooperation agreement with Lower Towamensing Township.

• Adopted an ordinance amending vehicles and traffic, handicapped parking request, in the 400 block of Lafayette Avenue.

• Approved the first reading of an ordinance amending streets and sidewalks.

• Appointed Coltin Charbonnier to the Palmerton fire police.
