Six area players are LV Scholar-Athletes

The Lehigh Valley Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame 64th annual banquet will be held on Sunday, March 3 at Northampton Community Center at 4:30 p.m.

The foundation will honor 34 high school and six college student-athletes from across the greater Lehigh Valley area.

Six local football players will be among those honored. They include Noah Rosahac of Jim Thorpe, Dylan Moyer of Lehighton, Chase Moffitt of Northern Lehigh, Devon Hildebrand of Northwestern, Matt Machalik of Palmerton, and Aaron Rehrig of Pleasant Valley.

The speaker for the banquet will be Lafayette head football coach John Troxell.

Following are brief bios on the area honorees:

Noah Rosahac,

Jim Thorpe

A 6-6, 275-pound offensive and defensive tackle, Rosahac ranks in the top third of his class with a GPA of over 4.0.

Rosahac earned All-League first team honors on offense and defense.

Rosahac is an honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society. He is a class officer and HOBY nominee. He volunteers as a Little League coach, Junior High football helper, and Christmas Wrestling Tournament helper.

Dylan Moyer,

Lehighton

A 5-9, 165-pound running back and linebacker, Moyer ranks in the top 9% of his class, with a GPA of 3.95.

He earned All-League second-team honors and served as a team captain.

Moyer is an honor roll student and made the Dean’s List in LCCC’s Early College Program. He is a member of several school sponsored clubs, including FBLA and Aevidum.

Moyer also serves as a church volunteer and coach for the Booster Club track program.

Chase Moffitt,

Northern Lehigh

A 6-1, 200-pound tight end, defensive end, and kicker, Moffitt ranks in the top 24% of his class, with a GPA of over 4.0.

Moffitt served as a team captain and earned third team All-League honors as a kicker.

Moffitt is an honor roll student and participates in a variety of school sponsored clubs and activities. In addition, he volunteers with the Slatington Rotary Club and Forgotten Felines.

Devon Hildebrand, Northwestern Lehigh

A 5-9, 180-pound running back and linebacker, Hildebrand ranks in the top 6% of his class with a GPA of over 4.0.

Hildebrand was a team captain and earned All-League first team offense, and second team defense honors.

Hildebrand is an honor roll student, a member of both the National Honor Society and the Science National Honor Society.

He is involved with a number of school sponsored clubs and activities, including the MAKER Club. He is also active in his community.

Aaron Rehrig,

Pleasant Valley

A 5-11, 185-pound linebacker and running back, Rehrig ranks in the top 12% of his class with a GPA of over 4.0.

Rehrig is an honor roll student and National Honor Society member.

He participates in various school sponsored clubs and activities, where he earned service hours in his community.

He volunteers with the West End Food Pantry, the American Legion, and a number of summer camps.

Matt Machalik, Palmerton

A 6-0, 195-pound quarterback and free safety, Machalik ranks in the top 24% of his class.

Machalik earned first team All-League and All-State honors in football where he also served as a team captain. In addition, he is a basketball captain.

Machalik is an honor roll student He is a member of Student Council, Gridiron Club Treasurer, and FBLA.

In addition, he volunteers with the Bo Tkach Turkey Day Trot, serves as a youth summer camp volunteer, a youth football coach, and helps with Trees in the Park.
