Carbon County’s planners recommended approval of a portion of land for a proposed multi-use trail in Weatherly.
During the monthly meeting of the Carbon County Planning Commission on Tuesday, the board gave the green light for a proposed subdivision of a property owned by Norfolk Southern Railroad Company, to subdivide a 0.42-acre lot for use as a multi-use trail in the borough. The remaining 6.83-acre tract would remain under the current tax parcel.
Ivan O. Meixell Jr., county planner, outlined his findings, saying that the tract has an existing walking path and that an on-site investigation revealed “no visible barriers toward development of the gravel trail.”
He then recommended plan approval, which passed.
